Thursday presented mainly Showjumping tours for both Pony and Horse at the World Cup Show in Herning. The Ponies did their first round of both the FEI Ponies Jumping Trophy and the Nord-Vest Box Cup Finale. The Danes did really well in the CSI1* tour, and in the dressage the Danes also took the 5 winning prices in the CDI2* Prix St.-Georg. The first 3* Showjumping competitions also began today. In 2 of these the Danish riders were beaten at the finish line, but in the Grand Prix 150 cm qualifier tour the Danes were invincible and Søren Pedersen made sure the Danish flag went up for the last time Thursday evening.

Unbeatable young Danish Riders
Thursdays 2 international pony competitions and the junior competition was won by Danish riders. The riders Pernille Harritslev Dam Christoffersen, Maria Nørregaard Langhoff and Benedikte Rie Truelsen all secured Danish victory. Both Maria and Benedikte won on their two very experienced horses - great to see a pony and a horse aged 20 and 18 years still competing at international top level.  This shows great horse management and very qualified riding skills.

Danish succes in CSI1*
The first competition was a CSI1* 135cm Tour. Due to 120 participants, the competition was divided into 2 tours. This meant 30 winning prices, and the Danes took the 21 of these.  Lars Bak Andersen and 3q Quadira, won one of these tours.

Danish victory in the dressage Prix St. George dressur
13 riders competed in the first dressage competion of the show. A Prix St. George sponsered by ”Dressurens venner”  in the Nathalie Hors Care Arena. Eventhough a few of the horses got a bit spooked in the big arena, the audience witnessed a lot of good and very talented horses. The head judge Mariette Sanders-Van Gansewinkel explained ”Some of the horses were really on edge in the arena today, but fortunately most of the riders managed to keep them on the right side of that edge.” Anna Kasprzak, took the first price with the beautiful horse Quarton ahead of Allan Skov and Midtgaardens Showhit and Anne Marie Hosbond with Diva Unik.

From almost there to Danish victory
Twice the Danish riders had to see themselves beaten and only winning 2nd price. Linnea Ericsson-Carey, showing very nice showjumping, riding her 8 year old horse Bernadine, had a clear round in the 145cm tour. This secured her the 2nd place of the competition, only beaten by a little less than half a second by the Dutch rider Remco Beem on Esminka.

In the Small Tour, 135cm, Christian Petersen and Zahr Alfarvad Z, won second place.  This tour was won by Irish Adrian Cronin, riding the Danish bred mare Hard to Beat G.  Danish riders Maria Hjort Frederiksen and Rikke Haastrup ended in top 5 of this competition.

The last Showjumping Tour of the day was the Grand Prix Qualification Tour with jumps up to 150 cm height.  This did not scare the Danish Showjumpers who with fantastic rides took the first 3 winning prices.  In this competition with 59 riders of which 18 were Danish, first place was won by Søren Pedersen and Tailormade Chaloubet, who ended the tour one second faster than Emil Hallundbæk, who came in second.  Emil is only 19 years old, and still U21 rider, but this young talented rider has already lots of victories and titles on his CV.  Today he was riding the gelding Chalisco in a clear round in the time 60,26 seconds.  Lars Bak Andersen came in third with Arcado L, also in a clear round, his time was 60,99 seconds.

The World Cup-event in Herning is arranged by Dansk Varmblod, Dansk Ride Forbund and Equitour Aalborg in collaboration with Sport Event Denmark, Herning Kommune og MCH Messecenter Herning
